• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Do all the troy kits have the gap where it meet the glove box?

I'd jump on one if it aligned properly..

All the pictures I have seen show that gap. I would really like to see some without.

What was the approx price on that unit?

I see the 4x4 shifter in there. I saw on their website that it was not compatible with the shifter. Was there a trick to get it installed. Just picked up a new sierra 3500hd crew cab with 40/20/40 seats.

Also you sure thats a troy. I cant find it on their website but I found it on jotto desk

Just to follow up. Apprently when I searched before I could not locate anything about this console on troy website and assumed it was a jotto product. Well I ordered a jotto product and now stuck as it will not work in a vehicle with the shifter.

The problem I have with that console is that you can't see the lowest radio (at least I couldn't). And the horizontal consoles allow too much glare off the faces.
I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado. I need a console that will allow an angled face. I had made my own but I would prefer a commercial mount. I am installing (3) 996XTs and a commercial dual band radio.
Also if you are going to do much work on the Chevys, you should look at the upfitter manuals online. There is full wiring harness info available on them.

Are remote heads an option? This is my 2008 Silverado, using two remote-head radios and one remote-head scanner mounted on my full-length console (factory subwoofer located within the forward portion of the console).

I know this thread is from 2012, but Eagle15, did you ever get that gap to go away on the right hand side of that console?? Just got myself a 2007 and like that idea, but have seen that "it wont fit" with the floor mount 4x4, if you got the gap to go away, im gonna take the plunge and buy that console too. Thanks!
