It seems that when the police in my area check a cars registration etc, after the dispatcher gives his/her info back, sometimes they end with NSR (I could have that backwards, could be NRS).I live in Loudon County Tn and wondering if this is just a local thing. Thanks

Must be a regional thing, but it probably means something like "No Signifigant Record".

I often hear dispatch say; "It comes back no record showing." So possibly that's what is stands for if you're hearing NRS.

I have been told that in Alabama it is NSR and it means "No State Record".

Since you are in Tennessee it is most likely the same thing.

Ask your question in the Tennessee forum...that is why the state forums exist.

I've heard NRS in two different contexts..

No Records Showing (as in, not registered)

OR

No Record Stolen (as in, clear, not stolen)

A lot of times here in New York police dispatchers will say "negative S & R" or "No S & R" reffering to Suspensions & Revocations on drivers licenses.

Just another sugestion.

Hope this helps,

Anyone know what a 'PFN' is? Is it personal file record?
Gentlemen,

Once again, one would get a quicker, more accurate answer if one posts a question like this in the forum for the state one is hearing something like this this from.
