Ok i decieded to start a new thread on this. I used to work for the ol Univeristy Polce at Southeastern LA Univeristy (Hammond, Louisiana) and i really want to be able to listen to them. But i cant figure out what system there on. On the FCC web site it says there conventional with 400mhz highband type of freq's but when i put them all in using WIN97 for mr PRO-2055 all i get is a bunch of keying up and hearing data, which from what ive been told is a trunked system. i guess if it was anything it would be LTR but I need help. I guess if someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome. THis is really important to me THANKS EVERYBODY.

Current info that I could find on that system indicates that it is a conventional (non-trunked) system using the following frequencies:
451.3250
451.9000
452.0500
452.2250
461.0500
461.7250
461.9000
463.3250
464.0750
464.8000
468.3250
468.6750

Check these against what you got off the FCC website.

I was born and raised in Hammond. I lived less than a mile from campus and listened to them quite a bit. It's been years since I last monitored them but they may be on the same freqs they used back then. Try 453.30 and 458.30 MHz and see what you hear.
Here's a freq list I got from Rat Shack about 10 years ago. Good Luck.

hey guess what i found out that the new freq's are in the 700mhz range will the 2055 do that?

No. The 2055 skips from 512 mHz up to the 800's.
How did you find out they are in the 700 range ?

If you left your job on good terms, couldn't one of your pals help you find out what you need to know ?

well my old training Sgt who happens to be big in radios, told me i called him and he said he had them writen down at home and he would call me later with them. But he said they were in the 700MHZ range, is that possible. Cause i didnt think that they had any 700 systems up yet?

Moved to the LA Forum.

Please try and keep local/regional matters in the appropriate forum.

Now, if you are hearing Morse code and data signals have you considered that they may now be using P25 CAI audio? It seems to me I remember that everything in the Tangipahoa Parish area was going to migrate to APCO-25 conventional. In which case, your Pro-2055 is not going to do you much good.

Also, of course 700 is being used, LATIE is up and running down the road from you (both in LaPlace and Slidell).

Has anyone else had problems programming 700 mhz freqs in the bcd396t? I was able to program 800mhz in apco25 format but not 700. Any ideas on what the problem might be? many thanks, hank1944

Hank, what kind of problems are you having? It should just program in (with some rounding on the frequencies perhaps). APCO25 format programming (P25) on the BCD397T doesn't care about frequency, so how is that affecting your programming?

No problem Hank, but you really need to comment on the thread you started in the Uniden forum, especially since you got a response from the Uniden representative.
