SMA Splitter

Would this be ok?. I am currently using 2 SDR's to monitor a VHF P25 system using the rabbit ears antennas that came with the kit. They work ok, but I want to just use a dedicated better VHF antenna. I also don't want to use a tv splitter and getting the adapters for the F connectors. The signal level is strong so loss is not a big deal. Any thoughts on this?.

That's not a good idea, best to use an actual purpose designed splitter which will give consistent performance (loss and impedance) across its advertised frequency range. The two cable thing will have varying loss at different frequencies and anything but a constant impedance.

Here is a nice little splitter that covers 10MHz to 1500MHz with SMA connectors for $15, can't beat that.

If it arrives dead eBay will give you your money back. The fine print on this one states "The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended." That means its advertised as working and it doesn't matter if the seller states no returns. If it was advertised as not working, only for parts, then you would have a problem.
