Interesting link, but it appears to only show the Fire Headquarters for each Department/District. I have a personalized kmz file with all the station locations for most of the Southern Denver-Metro area as well as a rough map grid system for Denver-Metro, but I haven't really put it online anywhere and it's getting somewhat out-of-date.

I have spent a few hours today to update the kml file that I have and luckily it's small enough to attach here.

I would like to give some advice, the map page file is rather large and is an overlay over the Denver-Metro area. It WILL take time to load, sometimes upwards of 30 seconds or more since it's a large overlay. The map pages are generally accurate to a few hundred feet and have been confirmed by calls dispatched by Littleton Fire, South Metro Fire, and Douglas County Dispatch. I haven't listened to other departments, but assume it is accurate for them as well.

Department stations included in this map are:

Almost all of Douglas County (except for Mountain Communities, I cannot pinpoint their station), all of Elbert County, West Metro, Denver, Englewood, Littleton, South Metro, Cunningham, and Aurora. All of these should be divided by different colors of the markers. The Stations are labeled by their numbers and locations are generally exact based on satellite imagery and not addresses.

If you are not interested in the whole map page section (as it takes a long time to load), you can disable it by going to Colorado Fire Stations > Map Page and unchecking it.

A large part of this map is based on information published by 5280Fire and I would like to thank them for having such an excellent website. Most stations should have a link included to the 5280Fire station page so you can see images of apparatus if you are ever interested.

Hope everyone enjoys my hard work!

Spitfire8520 - thanks for posting the file. I especially like the map grids. I think you should have them right since they are all 1 square mile so you only need to have onepu and then the rest fall into place. How hard would it be to put the grid number on all the grids? If I zoom in on an address and it isn't one with a label I cannot tell which grid I'm on.

As for Mountain Communities - they have 3 stations, only 1 in Douglas County. It is the building on the SW Corner of CR 68 and Westcreek Rd (There's only 1 building there).

It might take sometime for me to alter my file to show all the grids. I'll get back to you once I do so. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks! This is interesting stuff and I'm curious and will have to do some reading about using KML myself as I'm not familiar at all. I figures out how to put markers, but didn't see how to make the grids.

I actually used Google Earth itself to place the markers and such. I made a large image of a perfect grid system and just put that image as an overlay on the map and manually adjusted it to match the few examples of map grids that I already had. I actually initially started with a State of Colorado map that had 1 mile by 1 mile squares and added a bunch of markers acting as numbers and letters until I decided to make my own.

Your welcome!

I actually do have West Metro Station 15, it's between South Metro's 40, West Douglas' 131 in Roxborough, far away from the other West Metro stations. I didn't put in any Fleet Services as I didn't consider them important at the time (I'm also missing South Metro's JSF for that matter).
