I'm currently listening to what I assume is a multi agency drug surveillance operation. Most, if not all of the county's radio traffic is encrypted, but every once in a while you find a nugget. The DEA may be involved because they were mentioned. Just gonna record the channel and see if anything interesting happens.

Most of the time it isn't very interesting, just left turn here, stopping there. When the good stuff happens they just say let's do it, then switch to a local dispatch frequency. I still listen sometimes, but never very exciting.

I never expected it would be that exciting. Counterpoint though, I did manage to catch and record a high speed chase between Osceola and Orange County that ended up in a PIT maneuver. The guy was accused of murdering his wife. I never know what will catch my fancy. School bus radio traffic can be funny. Our local bus line is hilarious, especially at night.

lol, I just listened to what I've recorded already. Apparently these cops are coordinating this surveillance using the Signal App that's so popular recently. In fact, once cop just gave out his phone number in the clear to another guy wanting to join the group. That was the last transmission I recorded. I wonder if someone started bouncing on that phone number?

Next activity take a 2nd radio and search the 406-420 (old DEA) and 162-174 (migrating to VHF) see what might be on-going there. (P25)

But then wait a few days/weeks after the event to post it to the forums.
