Hello I am in Berrien county Michigan. On one of the talkgroups a certain channel when it comes up sounds like a phones busy signal and I noticed on my whistler 1080 screen and E pops up is that what encryption sounds like.. Thanks

No it is in the settings IIRC. You can set up for a busy signal or another sound etc. Again not 100% sure have not had a whistler scanner in awhile.

Under the Advanced Features and Audio Options tabs in EZ Scan, you can set encrypted transmissions go give Digital Noise, Silence, or Tone (Busy Signal).

Yes, that transmission is encrypted and that is the default sounc the scanner usese it can be changed as others have stated.

If that it is question, you are correct - no scanner can decrypt encrypted transmissions.
