Square One Mall Security

Just wanted to let everyone know Square One Shopping Center has gone DMR encrypted. This change has happened sometime this week. I wonder if the other talk groups have followed suit on their system. I also wonder if other malls that are under oxford will go encrypted.

All good things must come to an end.

Security is running standard 40 bit enhanced privacy encryption, KID=155, TG 2000 on slot 1; maintenance/custodial is in the clear, TG 2001 on slot 2.

You realize this had to do with a certain someone at EMTC.. word gets around..

Prediction: Within a couple weeks EMTC will go ENC too

Without a doubt. At least it'll make a certain someone's DMR radio a bit less useful.

Shhh don't plant any seeds for the region of Durham... they would encrypt everything if they could.. funny enough the lifeguards at Lakeview Park use FRS.. lol

funny you mention that,the grounds crew where i play ball at Lakefront West have been using FRS radios because the "NextGen" radios are absolute garbage down in that area

In Hamilton, yes. Everything is encrypted with at least ADP.
