Hello all, I have found park rangers in cleburne county’s radio system and remember seeing arson or state fire investigator elsewhere, my question is what do all these statewide units operate on? I am looking to listen for Alabama Game and wildlife, Alabama fire marshal and Alabama park rangers and forestry, I’m guessing forestry is on analog but can someone direct me how to listen to the other agency’s? Thank you for any help

prob southern linc or first net . at one time just about all state agencies were on stink n linc .
most of the time the fire marshalls/ investigators use cells .
i have worked with a few state fire invest. they all had cell phones. plus there is not really good info passed at fire scenes .
they get the primary call via cell phones respond to invest/ collect evidence then go back to bed (lol ).

for fish and game i dont think i have ever heard them. i do know they went to southern linc .
for forstery there is a link here . they dont talk much during the off season. if your lucky you might hear them going off duty.

if a freq has been confirmed 50 percent of the time its been posted here.

many state parks have their own radio freq. could also be the over the counter radios or the family radio service .

your prob going to have to research the fcc uls website. using the search function .

Conservation Officers went on the Forestry Commission radio system two or three years ago. They ID as "GF" units and can be heard going on and off duty most days. You'll hear them more now that the fall and winter hunting seasons are in progress. The only dispatch point is in Montgomery.

As medic9351301 said, most State Parks have their own area repeater. I'm thinking that they may have a statewide common simplex channel but I don't know the frequency. I would think that State Park radios are programmed the same statewide and include every area repeater.

In my AL-DPS days (which ended fifteen years ago), State Fire Marshals used the State Trooper frequency as needed. They were "FM" units. AIRS page here shows a talk group that I can't verify.

As far as I am aware, any state agency with a radio system not on AIRS is analog.

With only minor "legacy inaccuracies" that refuse to die, the Radio Reference data base for Alabama State agencies is fairly up to date.

Addendum...

Based largely on this FCC license, my research has the following Alabama State Conservation frequencies not associated with any listing in the RR database. They are: 151.220, 151.250, 151.460, 159.465*. Although I've never heard anything on these, I always have them programmed.

*159.465 MHz was once the primary output for all Conservation Enforcement repeaters across the state. I haven't heard anything on it since they left VHF to go all Southern Linc back in the late nineties or early naughts.

Radio numbers for game wardens and other employeees of the Alabama Department of Conservations and Natural Resources can be found on the first pages of the Regulation Book 2021-2022 at the following link:

As stated above, you'll find the game wardens going in and out of service and not much else on the Alabama Forestry Commission's dispatch frequencies and game wardens' numbers are preceded with GF to distinguish them from Forest Service employees.. Jefferson County game wardens in District III are heard checking in and out of service on frequency 159.405 for example.

Game warden radio number 306 will be heard as GF306.

I occasionally hear state park units in Orange Beach come up on AIRS and request tow trucks for the boat ramps and beach parking. They talk to OBPD when necessary. They’ll do traffic stops sometimes, and not just in the parks. The units ID as State Park 43x.

I’m pretty sure the Conservation/Marine Fisheries boat has an AIRS radio too because they have shown up a few times at boat wrecks and BUI calls, though I’ve never heard them talk.
