We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Here's the thread for the new year. Not much time to listen for me but I do keep an eye on the mode-s tracking. Noticed DC ANG tankers (at least one anyways 57-1512) operating in FL/Gulf this week. I don't remember which one I saw last night.

I do have the inauguration day off though so I'll definitely be listening then.

One of these days I hope to post some pics from my future grandfather-in-law. I'll need to scan them first. He was one of the original AC-130 pilots in Vietnam. Among those he flew were "The Arbitrator" before it was destroyed and "Gomer Grinder". There are only a few pics of these online. We celebrated his 80th b-day last week, my GF and I built a scale model to put on his cake. :)

Had some C-17 'flyovers' after the party because of one working the pattern at MRB.

A bit off topic but just love this video I bookmarked a while ago of RAF Lakenheath F-15C's zipping thru Wales valley aka the Mach loop.
No wonder 1.5 mil hits.. Not often you can look down on F-15 fighters passing beneath you..Watch on full screen view..

Love it, thanks. My first look at the F-15 was at a show in FL at MacDill many years ago. He came down to about 500 feet off the runway, went to a verticle position for about 1/10th of a mile then opened her up and straight up. I believe it was a Strike Eagle. Old plane but still has a lot to offer.

That's good news.. I figured Dover was long shot as they barely have room
for their C-5M/C-17 Heavies..
Bad news is though McGuire eventually goes from 40 tanker tails to 24 tankers but they
still have their C-17's as well..
A few years off but hopefully we are here to see the new birds arrive McGuire.. :)
