I see on many amateur radio Sky Warn pages that storm chasers are reported to use 146.550 as a primary simplex channel and 146.460 as a secondary simplex channel, both with a tone of 114.8. Has anyone in fact heard storm chasers communicating on these frequencies and using these PL tones?

Certainly been the case the past couple of years....at least the 146.55 frequency. Not sure I ever had a chance to determine the PL!
I have not been out amongst the chasers this year, as of yet!!!!!
