• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,

I have a Stryker SR94HPC, and for now, I am just wanting to use the 11 meter part of the radio.

I have a programming cable and the Stryker software.

The trouble is that I am Visually Impaired, and I have contacted Stryker to see if they could send me a cheat-sheet of the buttons, because the hieroglyphics in the manuals don't work for the Visually Impaired.

But if I knew what each button does, like if you push it once or twice, etc., I could figure out how to set it.

I tried the software with my screenreader, and it is challenging at best.

I wonder if someone could fix my DAT file so it only does CB on high power.

I think I read where band D is the CB band, but I don't know which button gets me there.

But if all bands, A through J were CB, that would be okay, because I don't know which frequencies for 10 meter are commonly used, I have a license for Ham bands.

Thanks for any assistance, my email is:

I have one and as a coincidence was just playing with it about an hour ago. I can try to make a cheat sheet but in my opinion its a very cumbersome radio to use even with good sight. The main knob defaults to a channel selector and you have to push a menu button just to turn up the volume then another to change squelch. I don't remember the sequence but there are multiple pages to the menu and the various functions you mention are on different pages and for me there is no good way to know what page I'm on without reaching for my reading glasses.

Hi,
Well anything would help.
I've figured out that button #1 toggles between FM and AM, and #4 briefly changes the volume.
I've heard nothing from Stryker on a cheat-sheet or any other assistance.

You are Visually Impaired the SR-94HPC is not the radio for
Hello,
All radios are digitally controlled any more, so if I want a newer radio, I'll have to have one that I can get set up so I can manage it with pushing certain buttons a certain number of times.
All I need is someone to give me the button layout and what happens with each push of any button.
Until manufacturers start including speech output, like Baofeng and Wulung has, I have to adapt, and if anyone is willing to assist, it will be much appreciated by many VI folks. I have the same challenge even with old radios, but at least I can count clicks on a dial and remember which buttons are for what, but again, to say a new type radio is not for me is wrong.

As threatened, here is some menu info.

On the group of six buttons that surround the display the top left is P1, bottom left is P3, top right is P4 bottom right is P6.
On power up my radio has P1 for MOD, P2 for RFG, P3 for EMG, P4 for VOL, P5 for SQL and P6 for POW. On some menu items pressing the P button will toggle between selections and the far lower right FUNC knob will also change some selections within a menu item. For things like volume and RF gain the FUNC knob will change that value.

Press the far upper right button FUNC above the multi function knob once to get the next menu selections.
P1 for DSP, P2 for SCA, P3 for MEM, P4 for BND, P5 for DW and P6 for CAL.

Press the FUNC button again for another menu set.
P1 for NB, P2 for RB, P3 for HIC, P4 for TSQ, P5 for SPL, P6 for 5K.

If you press the FUNC button for another menu its only on screen for about 8 seconds before reverting to the first menu. You will have to look up some of the meanings of the selections as I've never used most of them. Good luck as this thing is a PIA even with good eyeballs and a magnifying glass.

Hi there,
This is good, if I can find those values in the adulterated manual, after it was converted to TXT, I will be able to do a lot with this.
Thank you.
