Hello, I live in Sevier County Tennessee. I recently bought a programable scanner and have found a lot of good frequencies. I live in Kodak, TN. which is out in the County. All police calls are directed to the Sevier County Sheriff''s Dept. The freq number given on the list where I found most of the other numbers is totally silent. The # is 460.0250 and like I said, it has nothing on it. It is a really busy area and I'm real anxious to find the active freq that they use. Please can anyone help me!
Thank You,
Sincerely yours....................Wambam44

They have switched to a digital mode called Nexedge (NXDN) and can't be monitored by any scanner, sorry.

Thanks Danny. Learn something new every day. Don't you think that a digital type receiver will be developed one day to keep the game going? Only time will tell. take care...Wambam44

Interesting. Is this the case for every Sevier County frequency or just Sheriff Dispatch?

Sevier County Sheriff

Hey bud,

As far as I can tell it seems only the Sheriffs dept. is using the new digital device, at least that was what one guy said. I'm kinda new at the Scanner thing. I live in Kodak and I pick up Sevierville Police perfect, but living in the county I'd like to listen to the Sheriff's talk. There has got to be a way to pick up the Digital signal and convert back to analog so we can receive it. Thanks for your Feedback...I like your PLANE.

New Technology

The Sevier County Sheriffs Dept and now I'm to Gatlinburg Police switch to this new Technology Nexedge.I just saw an article link from Ebay advertising a new Nexedge Trasceiver Unit. Price looks steep like anything new, but as long as the authorities change to something new, someone figures a way to beat the system again,

At this moment...meaning until the area does some other strange thing to their systems...the Sevierville police, some local fire departments, and miscellaneous local frequencies. All those are conventional frequencies. Currently the Pigeon Forge PD is broadcasting on 460.050, though I believe that they have a P25 setup that is apparently in use sometimes. I don't know the status of county EMS, or rescue. As an aside, Knoxville's trunking frequencies can be monitored from certain areas, depending on where you are in relation to the mountains. Hope this helps!
