• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Just got a SVR-200 and am testing it. Was a Tennessee Highway Patrol unit.

However, I noticed that the transmit audio from the portable is way too low.

I'm sure they were using different units connected to it, but I'm using a CDM1550.
What should I adjust to get the receive audio better, or does the unit need realigning?

I put out a seperate thread looking for those who can realign it anyways.

Thanks guys

There's a pot inside on the circuit board that can be adjusted to increase receive and transmit audio on the unit. I do not remember what it is. Contact Pyramid support via email, they'll be happy to email you what pot you need to adjust.

Two things.
Pots:
Maximum deviation/lock tone deviation: Adjust RV7 (lock tone deviation) for maximum. If the SVR-200 is programmed for sub-audible encode, adjust RV6 (CTCSS) for minimum. Adjust RV8 (repeater deviation) for 95% deviation. Adjust RV7 for 60% deviation.

There's also jumpers:
J1 - Controls the maximum drive level of the transmit audio output to the mobile radio. If J1 is installed, output amp U1B will have an adjustment range of 0-100 mVPP. If J1 is removed, U1B can be adjusted between 0-5VPP.

J2 - Controls the output impedance of the transmit audio line to the mobile radio. If connected to a low impedance point in the mobile, installing JP2 sets the output impedance to 600 ohms. If JP2 is open, the output impedance is 2.2Kohms. Install the jumper for radios that require a lot of modulation drive or that have low impedance microphone circuits. Remove the jumper if the SVR-200 installation decreases local microphone audio at the mobile.

From the SVR-200 service manual.

If you're a qualified technician / technically capable, hopefully that's helpful.

If not, do try and grab a tech, it would suck to see the wrong thing get misadjusted so the magic smoke comes out.

I talked with Pyramid earlier, it appears a 100K resistor on the R13 circuit (which is for Kenwood) instead of a 2.2K resistor for Motorola may be causing the issue. I adjusted RV7, it helped a little but there is still too much noise vs. audio too low.

Either way I sent it back to Pyramid for service.
Thanks for trying to help guys :)

Are you using this for wide band or narrow band? Most of the surplus units expect 5 KHz deviation
