Yes...
I'm hearing mention of some kind of "firewall update"...
I hope they have enough water to put it out...
Because those firewall updates, can burn worse than a red TESLA.

UPDATE...
SCCFD now reporting "All units we are now in full manual mode...voice all changes."

That doesn't sound very encouraging...but it's great for everyone who misses Full Manual Dispatch .

I would venture to say that this was a CAD/Network upgrade versus radio. If data isn't being transmitted to the mobile data units as noted in your first post regarding the gate code, the IP connectivity to their data provider is down. It happens, equipment like firewalls and other items reach end of life and it's time for an upgrade...voicing unit status definitely means their MDC's were down and verbal status on the radio.
