    We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

    If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

On April 27, 2008 at approximately 2:13 A.M., Colorado State Troopers responded to a fatal crash on Highway 287 (Federal Blvd) and 67th Ave in Adams County. A blue 1991 Honda Accord was northbound on Federal Blvd traveling at a high rate of speed. The Honda skidded and lost control rotating off the right side of the roadway. The Honda struck a traffic pole with its left side. The Honda was torn in two, as a result of this impact. The rear of vehicle came to rest just north of the first impact. The front of vehicle struck a second pole on the passenger side approximately 60 feet from the first pole, and came to rest.

The unrestrained driver has been identified as Kevin Dawson, age 18 of Aurora, CO. Dawson was ejected from the vehicle. Dawson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adams County Coroner.
The unrestrained passenger has been identified as Matthew Sailas, age 18 of Denver, CO. Sailas sustained serious injuries and was transported to St.
Anthony Central in Denver.

The crash and subsequent investigation led to a closure of Federal Blvd for approximately 3 ½ hours.

The crash remains under investigation.

Alcohol or drugs are suspected as contributing factors.

Next of kin have been notified
