• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Thanks GL.

I just forwarded this to a buddy of mine who lives down
at the Oregon coast (about 80+ miles west of me).
His elevation is 15' above sea level.

They've been told that if the Juan de Fuca Plate goes bigtime, and there is a Tsunami,
they'd have only about a 15 minute warning.
That's about how much time it takes to drive to higher ground from his place.
So unless he happens to already be on the road when he get's the warning message,
he might just be fish food.

"something that often happens before a volcanic eruption — except there are no volcanoes in the area"

Maybe not yet....

Or maybe it's the Red October.

Where has Oregon?
LOL

I couldn't make sense of your funny (question) the first time I read it.

A lot of cars around here with bumper stickers saying:
"DON'T CALL IT OR-E-GAWN"

It's easy to pick out the transplants here from east of the Rockies.
Most of you pronounce it wrong.
It would be akin to us referring to Connecticut as CONNECT-EE-CUT
It's pronounced OR-E-GUN (no, really)
Even Dubya pronounces it correctly...Somehow.
