I heard talkgroup 29378 on Boone County Safe-t tonight 12-13-07 around 9:00PM. I have checked RR under Indiana Safe-t and cannot find a listing for this talkgroup.Can anybody help me out here as to who this might be on Boone County Safe-t. That is actually talkgroup 29376 , however, for it to show as 29378 that radio using the talkgroup 29376 was in emergency status.

Talkgroup 29376 is according to RR DB Greendale Police Dispatch in Dearborn County.

Jfish,The radio was not in "Emergency Status" and the Display showed 29376 and I did hear a short conversation on this talkgroup.If it was from Dearborn County.Why was I hearing it thru Boone County Dist 52 simucast?Thanks Tim DeLong W9NES

I don't know I was just going by the orginal post wanting to know what talkgroup 29378 was. That talkgroup would show up if a radio was in emergency status and talking on talkgroup 29376.

Talkgroup 29376 belongs to Dearborn County, as to why it was being heard on the Boone County site I have no idea.. there could be alot of different reasons.

If I had to quess I would say that someone was roaming that was monitoring Dearborn County.

I know that alot of the talkgroups are restrict to certain towers, but I think there are times that the tech monitor certain channels outside the norm.

One example of this was at what time knox county was being broadcast on the Indianapolis tower ( do to techs monitoring it) and recently when I was up near Redkey Indiana (Northeast) on a transport detail I picked up radio traffic on ISP District 45 talkgroup which is located on the Indiana / Kentucky line.

Outside of that I have no other way to explain it..

I thought that at one time I saw a program that you could input the TG and it would tell you what mode it was in.

I always hear TG's that are not on the assigned towers. I regularly hear Bartholowmew Co on the Fairland tower and I doubt it has anything to do with the techs as it's all hours of the day and night and on weekends. I have heard Bloomington on the Mooresville and Hindustan towers.
Today 12512 ISP Dist 16 has popped up on three towers Hortonville, Rockville and Anderson and ISP 51 Dispatch 4112 has popped up on 9 different towers and thats just since 2:19 this afternoon.

Thats what I was trying to say it could be tech's as the one example from Knox County I gave I know was techs monitoring the traffic on the Indianapolis Goverment Center tower as for the other example it could just be users radios roaming...

That would explain why the Dearborn County talkgroup would have been heard on the Boone County Tower if one of the users radios from Dearborn County was attached to the Boone County Tower.
