Folks,

We received a submission for some updates to the Taylor Co WV portion of the database. It appears that all data that we had previously was imported from FCC data, with no actual confirmed information.

The submission received today looks to have some updated information. So I have commenced with updating the Taylor Co WV portion of the database at:

Taylor County, West Virginia (WV) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

The person who submitted the information is (a) a relatively new RR user, (b) appears to have provided accurate information, (c) is not reachable via email or PM. As such, I've updated the DB as much as I can.

For those living in Taylor Co or who monitor Taylor Co, I do have a few questions I'd like to pose in order to confirm some other information.

1. We certainly could benefit from PL / DPL tone information. If anybody has recent confirmed PL/DPL tones for the frequencies listed in the DB, we would appreciate it if you could submit that info.

2. The submission indicated that both the Sheriff and Grafton PD are on 155.715, even though Grafton PD does have a license ofr its own repeater on 155.625

I have labeled 155.715 as Taylor Co Law Dispatch since it's being used by multiple agencies.

Can anybody tell me if 155.625 is in use by Grafton PD at all, or if they use 155.715 (the SO frequency) for all of their traffic?

3. The submission indicated that Taylor Co Fire was on 45.44 (licensed to City of Grafton) and on 155.935 (an unlicensed frequency).

My guess is that 155.935 is actually 155.9325 (which is licensed to Taylor Co) and that the submitter's scanner is perhaps an older scanner that is unable to be programmed to 155.9325 so 155.935 is what is seen on their scanner.

I have added 155.9325 as Taylor Co Fire Dispatch. Can somebody tell me if Taylor Co fire is also on low band 45.44, or if 45.44 is just Grafton Fire ?

4. I've added 156.00 (a repeater) for Taylor Co EMS, again per the submission.

I've taken the liberty of "fixing up" the Taylor Co DB so it is more presentable. Any clarification on the above information would be appreciated. Additionally, if you have information on other active frequencies in Taylor Co and/or if you have PL/DPL information for the currently listed frequencies, please post here or submit them directly to the DB.

I'll take this opportunity to say Thanks! to the submitter for providing updated information for Taylor Co. I'd say thanks directly but am unable to do so.

Thank you,

Mike

All ya gotta do is ask..LOL

Ask and Ye shall receive:

155.7150 153.8000...WPQF578 Law Enforcement........Taylor County Sheriff 156.7 PL...Dispatch Channel
158.8725 155.9325...WPPA956 Fire............................Taylor County Fire Dispatch 146.2 PL...Dispatch Channel
155.6250 151.1150...KQ4361....Law Enforcement........Grafton Police 103.5 PL
156.0000 154.1150...Fire...........................................Taylor Ems 146.2 PL
158.8200 154.8300...................................................Taylor Schools (BOE) PL 131.8

As with most counties in WV Low band is pretty much a dinosaur and dead as one.
None the Less....39.6400 Taylor Sheriff/Grafton PD..PL103.5

Harrco 911 dispatches all Emergency Services in Taylor County

Although Grafton PD maintains thier 155.6250..It was mainly used for Pre-Harrco 911 dispatch days.

The Taylor County Sheriff and the Grafton Police Chief are Father and Son...LOL I think its funny....Although some citizens don't like it....LOL

The Taylor Sheriff, Fire and Grafton units just purchased WVIRP P25 UHF Kenwood Mobile and Portable radios about 9 month ago as well.

Haha. You should be careful what you offer, or I might ask you for all of the information for each and every county in West Virginia... and then who knows, maybe other states hah.

I will go ahead and make the additional changes. Thanks bud!

So, is it correct that 155.715 has Taylor Co SO and Grafton PD both on it then? And if so, do you see anything wrong with me calling it Taylor Co Law (which would cause people to assume multiple agencies) versus calling it Taylor Co Sheriff ?

The license (and hte previous submission) list 155.9325 as an output. Your listing above would seem to indicate 155.9325 as input with 158.8725 output.

can you clarify?

Thanks

Yep, I would label Grafton and Taylor Sheriff on 155.7150 as Taylor Law Dispatch

Correct I have my XTS/L's programmed on 155.9325 as TX, and 158.8725 as Rx, ;)

That's a real "twist"... completely opposite of FCC records. I hate being forced to count less and less on what's listed on the license. Oh well, I guess half the "fun" is figuring it out without the help of the FCC anyway.

I'll make the correction.

I am not getting any ems messages through the code u have listed.

1. Welcome
2. They are not called "codes" but rather frequencies
3. Have you checked the RR DB? Taylor County, West Virginia (WV) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
4. Did you program in 156.00000?
5. Did you program a PL with it?
6. Could it be possible that it is just not busy when you listened?
7. Did you adjust the squelch as low s you can get it without static?
8. If scanning, is it locked out or the bank/system not selected?

Hi

I will be going to Taylor County soon. I would like to listen to Grafton and Taylor County Communications. You said that Harrison County dispatches for Taylor County. Are those dispatches on Harrisons County's Frequencies/Talkgroups or are they on the frequencies listed for Grafton/Taylor County in the database?
Should I use the talkgroups to monitor from the West Virginia State Radio System?

I really appreciate any information you can provide.

Taylor County Sheriff is still simulcast on VHF high, they purchased Kenwood P25 equipment last year.
Plug in those freqs for now, Taylor Co. will or does already have their own talkgroups dispatched by Harrco 911. One day when I get time I'll search for em...For now I just listen on simulcast that is when I listen to Taylor county. WVSP Shinnston is dispatched on the IRP as well.

Just curious why are you moving to Taylor County WV of all places?

Thank you for the information.

I am not moving to Taylor County. We are going to a funeral for my father's aunt and will be there for a couple days and just wanted something to listen too.

Thanks again.
