Wondering if there are any hams still using a Tempo One, these came out in the mid-70's in a gray and black painted version. Got mine back in '77, bought new from Barry Electronics in NYC. Am on my third one, bought on Ebay and restored to working condition. It's the black faced version, 16 tubes, 80 - 10m, an oldie but goodie. Were manufactured by Henry Radio.

techman you are correct, they were manufactured by Yaesu-Musen, not Henry Radio. They were also sold as the Sommerkamp FT-250 in Europe.

And sold as the FT-200 by Yaesu. I have the FT-200 as well as one each silver faced and a black faced Tempo One. I did not buy any of the three brand new, but they were all purchased by family members and I am the second owner of each. When these were new I was in a null of radio operations, having discovered other interest, I did not drift back to radio until after these were past tense. I do not have the Sommerkamp version, although I do keep my eyes open for a nice example to add to the collection.

I do occasionally fire up both the FT-200 and the black face Tempo One, the silver faced T1 has an issue that I have not gone after yet. I occasionally do "vintage" weeks / months when I bring out various older radios and run them instead of the newer gear for a while.

T!
