• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

According to the websight, there is a programming cable and software available. This seems odd for a radio with services that use fixed frequencies. The 7.4 volt battery also suggests power output above the MURS limit, although no output is specified. The manual http://www.powerwerx.com/download/TERA_TR-505_User_Manual.pdf states two power levels. 5 watts is available for VHF according to the specs.

All the documentation (and I just skimmed it, didn't read every page in detail) up on the FCC database only mentions the UHF functionality of the radio. Take a look at the user manual for example: it's different than the one on the powerwerx site. The one the FCC has up only mentions the GMRS capabilities.

Hiding in a coffee shop.
FCC ID shows 1.1 watts on UHF.

No thanks, I'll pass.

Really sad to see the FCC is obviously not paying attention to what is getting passed through their system.

Funny how no one bothers to look at the details.
And the emission designator... 10K3F3E... WTF kind of bogus horse manure is that?? Motorola Astro data... but not really???

More proof that Radio Spectrum Sales and Leasing LLC dba the Federal Communications Commission only verifies one box on the form, the remittance portion!

I think that the FRS channels in the 467.xxx range are required to have less than 12.5 khz deviation. Probably to minimize repeater input interference.

It only has the first 3 repeater pairs programmed into it. (550/575/600) The Tera users manual also states it'll run 400-470 MHz as well as 136-174 MHz.

Take note, Powerwerx has pulled the radio off their page.

Hmm.... they may have sneaked it by. No mention of MURS on the grant for that ID.

I noticed this last year when the grants were issued.
There are two FCC IDs
2ACK8TR505 which is GMRS only and
2ACK8TR505D which is GMRS/MURS and apparently was never produced or sold.

Amazing how many of these companies will happily ignore the rules to make a few bucks. Integrity is gone, greed and profit has replaced it.
Yeah. They are trying the same tricks AnytoneTech. Tried...wonder how long it will take them to get nailed.
They are back for sale now.

Likely..."Forgot" to include all the specs...to clear the fcc....then sell them as dual service.
