• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for any documentation related to the Motorola TETRA EBTS base station.
I run a HAM repeater on it and I would like to have an installation and service manual.
I am also looking for an idea how to run something more than group calls on it.

It will only handle group calls in local site trunking mode. I haven't heard that anyone, like a HAM, have managed to program a computer to connect to the E1 link and act as a controller to handle private calls, phone patches and dispatcher functions.

The EBTS series where very unreliable and modules fails frequently and Motorola did numerous hardware updates but never managed to get it under control. Hence the MBTS series where introduced 20 years ago that are super reliable.

Thank you for your response. Previously, I operated with a DMO repeater connected to the network via svxlink via a terminal with PEI interface. I missed trunking functionality. I would only be saved by the functionality of sending statuses with which I change the TG in svxlink ...

You won't miss the SC. You need to buy on ebay or somewhere else. The radio soft is loaded when booting from SC. Additionally, the SC is a 5MHz generator for the radio. I have soft application: TSC R05.32.42 BRC R05.02.49

Do you have a source for the SC?
I think the iDen Hardware is the same. Can you Confirm this?
If so i Need the Tetra Firmware to Flash the Iden Controller to Tetra Firmware

The source for the SC is GPS assisted inside the SC.
iDen Hardware looks similar - it has different descriptions on the controls on the front. I will not confirm whether it is possible to upload the tetra firmware. The principle is the same - BNC ethernet and 5MHz refernce.

I have not tried to download the firmware from SC - there is no such option in the software. There is an option to transfer over tftp. I will try to test when I have such an opportunity.
There is a flash on board that has boot routines. Uploading the application to the radio and SC takes place via rs232 with the zmodem protocol.

Interesting. I you can test tftp would be Great. Flash could be readable with a Flash Programmer. I think the Applications is saved within the files and could be saved with ftp.
