Yup, it should be busy! I know all the fish and wildlife brush engines are on extended staffing today and have some engines from out of state to help out here in Rio Grande valley. When the NOAA fire weather starts with ".DISCUSSION...DANGEROUS TO EXPLOSIVE WILDFIRE GROWTH AND SPREAD
WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY ACROSS DEEP SOUTH TEXAS “you know the day could get interesting.

Here in parts of Central Texas are in an Extreme Drought, have the lowest humidity readings we have had so far this year, and have been under red flag warnings for the past three days. So what are "they" doing? Pulling fire assets from this area to send out west. I really hope no one decides today is a good day to burn trash, light off that brush pile, or build a pipe fence.

On CBS 11 News (D/FW CBS Affiliate) the other night they showed a Map of Extreme Drought conditions for Texas. It was a good 70% of the state. I know dozens of counties have burn bans in place and those which don't are keeping an eye on everything. We got some rain here in N. Texas last night but it was short lived and not near enough. Be interesting to see how much worse it gets before it gets any better. And if it does stay bad, who will get Grants for some of the most out-dated fire equipment many of these Texas VFD's struggle to maintain.
