This morning I was getting a mixed mode P25 repeater on 149.625. The analog mode had PL 162.2 and people speaking Spanish.
I'm not sure where it was coming from because conditions were really good the past couple of days.
The State Guard had repeaters in the DFW area and Austin on 149.625/143.400 PL 162.2. I don't know if they are still there. Maybe they are using P25 now and getting skip from Mexico or something.

The Texas 'State' Guard has a large HQ in Mexia, Texas down in Limestone Co. They used to have regular Amateur nets I'd listen to. I'd put money on the "Skip from Mexico" thing before calling that actual State Guard activity. Our Texas State Guard are not the brightest folks around. Something to keep an eye on though - nice catch.
