• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Texas Trooper gets quite a surprise.

The driver is lucky he didn't end up as a late night snack for the gator.

Now, that's a Guard Dog.

Good thing the gator wasn't hungry, as stated above.

Years ago, I heard of a game warden that tried (note the verb) to single-handedly (note the irony) tried to capture a gator that was in the wrong place for a gator. The gator won, and the game warden got a new nickname. Gators are stronger and faster than the uninitiated, and experts, can expect. As said by the Mythbusters, "We're experts, don't do this at home." And, please note, they don't do anything solo, as the game warden did.

The burglar from Angleton was extremely lucky.

What they left out of the story is that the knucklehead also had a LIVE Water Moccasin loose in the car as well:

"Johnson advised the officer that there was a water moccasin snake in his car and that the snake had already bitten him on the hand.
An animal control officer found the snake and removed it, Longbotham said.
Johnson refused medical treatment for his hand."

KRIV, Ch 26, Houston, said the snake was from a couple of days earlier. But, this guy is surely on the road to at least an Honorable Mention Darwin Award.
