• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I wanted to say thank you for all the feed providers out there. Being one of the providers for my state and local area, I know you can sometimes get lots of emails complaining. Some wanting loud, some softer, some with different channel, some with different hold times. Ultimately the feed providers put up their own equipment and time to provide this service. Being someone that was right in the path of hurricane Irene, it was great to hear weather and damage reports from the various areas so that I knew what we were in for. I want to thank everyone assocated with this site from the admins, moderators, feed providers for the great service they provide.

feed providers

I still have that warm fuzzy feeling with all 2 of my listeners lol....Hope you and yours came through the hurricane unscathed. That thing was very large.I spent hours listening to the feeds out there on the east coast. You could almost watch the feeds go offline as the storm wiped out the power, dsl and cable. Crazy!! Hope you all recover quickly!!
