i got a st2 scanner antenna with RG-6 Coaxial cable are there any way i can inprove the pick up to pull in better ??? or is it a good antenna THANKS FOR UR INPUTS

unfortunately same antenna and also tried the RS discone and same results... better coax helped me out alo... lmr300 and i bought a cheap antenna mast mount preamp from rs ( RadioShack High-Gain HDTV-FM Signal Amplifier : Antenna Amplifiers | RadioShack.com ) and have had pretty good luck... i now use the antenuator on all my inputs and recieve about 65+ miles away... and where i am is a digital/ reception deadzone... also only turn the preamp about 1/4 of the way up and turn on the notch filter which is on the mast part... works wonders... but try a low loss coax as well. as lmr 300 improved my range to about 40 miles with the rs discone itself and no preamp ... so start with coax and work self up later if you need a preamp ... they do tend to overpower the frontend of these scanners wherever you are located

thinks for the info they mainly use ohio marcs where i live so i mite try the LMR-400 coax cable with my ST-2 outdoor antenna what do u think that would work out good or not or what do u thank would be the best
