The Concords last flight

Hi everyone:
The day the Concords made their last commerical flights accors the North Atlantic and other place,
someone recorded the audio both VFH and HF on these final flights. I did have both audio files but some how they have been deleted.

Would there be someone who might have these whcih they could share?

It sure would be nice. I always thought when I heard the callsign "Speedbird" that I was hearing a concorde flight. It's my undestanding that I was incorrect. It's just the callsign for British airways,right?

Speedbird is the callsign for British Airways. The Concorde used 'Speedbird Concorde #' as their callsign.

Sure would be nice to see them birds in the air again ! Airshows maybe ??? By fluke, I did see one arrive here at YYZ around '94 or '95 (I think ?). It had a high angle just before touchdown with the nose pointed downward...almost looked like it was broken in half !!!

I got to see it in 2003 after flying BA2274 from San Diego to London. As we were pulling into Terminal 4 at Heathrow, the Concorde was getting ready for its flight to New York!

Back in the early 80's, both BA and AF sent the Concorde to Ontario (CA). The first trip, I waited for hours (flight late). Even in the dark, it was an impressive aircraft. Another idea who's time was too early.

Though I don't live near London I did regularly see concorde and managed a single flight from my local airport on G-BOAC.

This weekends highlight could be seeing another beautiful delta (AVRO Vulcan) fly over the new hangar that now houses G-BOAC. XH558 is scheduled to do a missed approach at MAN enroute to Southport airshow

Concord Audio track

Hi everyone:

What great replys to my request. Lots of people remember the Concord, as well have seen this fast "Bird"

One of the replys had the audio tracks I was looknig for and I am so great full for that. This time I will burn a few CD" so they will not be lost again.

When the Concord made ite daily visit to JFK from Heathrow, I would watch the flight on Flight Explorer and listen to the audio on my HF radio. It was always exciting to see how quickly the trip accross the Atlantic took. Generly there we few radio transmissions, one to Shanwick Center, one to Gander Center and one to New York Centre. Then they would work New York arrival.

Sad to see it gone.

Thanks for posting the audio, I don't want to turn this thread around but I just wanted to say that after moving to the states and being here for almost nine months I'm enjoying my scanning a lot more as there is a ton more to listen to and now I'm venturing in to aircraft monitoring with a new air band antenna on the way, it was interesting listening to the concord as aviation is another favorite past time of mine, plus its nice to hear native accents over the air waves again. lol

I lived in New York all my life up to around 10 years ago (I moved to sunny Florida) but I still remember doing work at the 2 major airports there... those being JFK and Laguardia, and I remember seeing them up close at JFK Airport. Wonderful that someone mentioned it after so many years. I remember the amazing grace it had as it landed and took off. I witnessed it so many times, as it flew across NY with that unmistakeably loud roar. When you heard the jet engines from a distance, ya just knew it was the Concorde coming in. Thanks for the memory.
