Is there anyway to gage the digital trend in CT. I see a few upgrades which suggest digital is the way to go in CT but were do we stand right now in reference to CMED Lifestar and other local police and fire departments. It is essential to be able to coommunicate with other localities so I can see a digital upgrade a problem for emergency agencies that need to communicate outside there localities. For instance is is important for many hospitals etc to communicate with life star and CMED.

I don't think CMED would ever go digital, at least not any time soon. Most EMS agencies in the state are volunteer, and wouldn't be able to afford new digital radios. Some agencies might be digital and/or trunked for their dispatch radio, but the CMED radio is a conventional UHF mobile that every rig is required to have.
