THORNTON – Investigators plan to interview children after a house fire broke out Thursday afternoon, sending black smoke into the sky over the northern metro area.
Firefighters responded to the home near 123rd Avenue and Dahlia around 4 p.m. and had the fire knocked down at 4:25 p.m.
Investigators believe the fire started on the main level of the home which was empty when fire crews arrived.
Investigators say children had been at the home but had left earlier.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no one was injured.
