The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Single Head TK-790H - No sound coming from the head speaker

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Thumps when I power on, no beep from the radio or anything.

Got the little pin thing out that plugs in to the back of the radio but still doesn't do anything.

Help is appreciated.

you need to plug the short jumper into the molex connector in the back. i believe the pins are 2 and 6 if you need to make a jumper but im not 100% so if someone here *cough* code3cowboy could confirm.

If I remember correctly, it's pins 3 & 6. 2 & 6 are for a cab speaker. Looking at the plug with the two notches on top they are numbered 1,2,3 then 4,5,6.

Yes, jumper pins 3 & 6 on back of radio for a control head speaker.

Is this a basic head and you are trying to use the internal speaker, or are you using an external speaker to the head (basic or full function)?

What I don't like is "thumps when power on". This would indicate that the speaker is indeed connected to the audio PA (either the A side or the B side). Do you have a button for programmed for public address or speaker A/B. Either of these will switch to another speaker output. Speaker A/B will put a small "SP" on the display. Public address will say that instead of channel name (makes it obvious).

If that is not the case then there may be problems deeper in the radio.
