To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a TK-8180 K2 that I am trying to interface with a ZumRadio MMDVM modem. I get TX with audio just fine, but it seems I am not receiving the low level audio from pin 19. What would be an easy way to test this output? I see pin 17 has audio at roughly the same level would that be acceptable to use for a MMDVM setup?
Thanks
Ed

Hey Evans,
Thanks for the quick reply. So just try a 6.5K ohm resistor in series with pin 17 and the audio input to the MMDVM board? I will have to see if I have a resistor. I already have a a TK-7180 running using pin 19 and it works like a charm. Not sure why this 8180 isn't working, but who knows when you pick up a surplus radio.
Thanks agian

Hard to say, but you could go into to test mode, see if anything is astray there too. DEO is what the Kenwood MOBILE RELAY cable uses for analog pairing. NXDN or P25, it uses the RS232 to control Voice and Data.
Just a little tid bit for you.

Got my 6m mock up repeater running mixed mode with the ARCOM RC210, works like a champ now, and I used a 6.5K for the AFO on RX and on the NX-5600 TX pin 5. SMOOTH clear audio analog and NXDN 12.5

Keep in mind that pin 19 discriminator audio so it has no de-emphasis so it won't sound "right" to your ears. Pin 17 is de-emphasized audio like you'd hear from the speaker (before amplification).
