tone out feature in the 396t

just a question about the tone out feature. In the scanning mode will this scanner stop and switch to tone mode when a station tones are put out?

The scanner has to be in "tone out standby" mode for the feature to work. You cannot scan and get the FTO to work at the same time.

I think I know the answer (no) but will tone-out work on a trunked system? Richmond/El Cerrito/Kensington dispatch rings down their units on the public-safety shared trunked system.
