20 more days!!! Any one out there know any "confirmed" frequencies (vhf/uhf) they'll be using for the show (air boss, etc.)? Also looking for "confirmed" freq's for the snowbirds, blue angels, maybe even the f-22. Any other info would be helpful, thanks. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY MILAIR FREQUENCIES (CAN/US) "IN USE" IN OR AROUND SOUTHERN ONT. IM IN HAMILTON AND HAVE ON LUCK AT ALL IN THAT BAND. THANKS AGAIN. MB.

I would also post this message in the Military Aircraft forum.

I heard the following confirmed frequencies for the S/B at the St Thomas airshow earlier this year.

116.000 used by S/B plane to plane to regroup after a specific manouver has been completed.

272.1 on the way to the show.

242.6 used during the airshow by S/B's

333.3 is used a lot by military planes.

225.7 used to hand off the S/B from Toronto Center 135.3

Would be great if when after the airshow ends that you would post any confirmed frequencies heard so we can have them for next year.

A quick search on "CNE airshow" would have given you a link to Peter's excellent website in the first thread that shows up. Please remember to use the Search feature.

I've locked your thread in the Eastern Canada forum and will post a link to this thread.

BTW, capitals are considered shouting and are considered rude.

Try 376.025 or 384.55 for the F-22 Demo to Spotter. Also the F-16 demo really likes to use 384.55 as well. More than likely you can find the Blues on these: 284.25 (show center), 275.35 (diamond off center) and 237.8 (solos off center). Also 346.5 for their startup and taxi out. If Fat Albert flies probably can find him on 305.5

The Snowbirds freqs i have were used in the past such as 272.1 and 245.75 (used for all 9 planes). The 116.0 MHz freq is a new one for me so i think i'll leave the Snowbird stuff to our Canadian members who see them regularly. Enjoy the show.

First time in a while, but not the very first. I have pictures of them at YZ in about '82 or '83 when they were still flying to A4 prior to the F18.That's the last appearance hear I can remember.

I'll be at the Cleveland National Airshow during the same weekend (Thunderbirds will be there). I wonder if I'll be able to hear anything from the Toronto show?

Trying monitoring any of the low-level Toronto-based frequencies (arrivals, departures, enroute west low) and see if you hear anything now. If not, you won't hear any airshow traffic that's down below 5000' to the surface.

it is funny that you said that about "leaving the SB stuff to our Canadian members" I got that info from a USA site, and now I can confirm listening to the S/B on 116 Mhz.

Toronto UHF Freqs.

For those of you that don't read the CFS regularly (haha!), be aware that ALL Toronto-based UHF radios have been decommissioned and shut down as of August 27 with the exception of 243.0 and 344.3. That includes Tower, TCU and enroute. The remote sites are still operational at this time. I didn't search the database but I suspect the same across the country. So, don't be looking for airshow traffic on 236.6, 358.1 etc. etc.....

I say that because the Snows don't get down this far south very much where i can see them with any regularity and therefore have no chance of confirming their freqs. Heck, the Blues and T-birds don't even get near my area very often either. Enjoy the show.

ATCTech...sorry for my ignorance here, but what is CFS..Canadian Forum Section??
What about BOSS Control when you are actually down at the waterfront? I will be down there most of the show days this week..I know most military aircraft prefer UHF.....Can you give me the link to this information as I could not find it...

regards,

CFS is the Canada Flight Supplement, published every 56 days. It contains frequencies, runway layouts, navigation aids etc for every airport in Canada. It's available from the aviation stores around Pearson I believe, or by subscription right from NAV CANADA. Publication dates match changes to the AIRAC and navigation charts, worldwide.

Boss Control always was 123.1. 123.6 and 234.8 when I worked that show many years ago, but we don't provide the on-site communications any more so I'm not sure if those are still in use. Show Radar is based up at Pearson, and the City Centre Tower does much of the on-stage work now so keep and ear on 118.2, 119.2 whatever their UHF Tower frequency is. I'll see if I can find this year's frequency chart tonight and update this thread when I do.

Hope that's a start!

Brantford AIr Show - Sept 2

I'm going to be at the show this year with a couple of scanners. I've checked a few sites out and if I hear anything new I'll post it.

Anyone else going to the show?

Blue Angels headed your way

Anyone know how many days prior to a show the Blue Angels arrive ?

It's 1525 (3:25 pm) local here in Nashville and BLUE ANGEL 01 x 7 are up in comms with their tanker SLUFF 62 taking some gas and headed northbound to Toronto. The AR freq is on 289.9 but their A/A chat is the usual 284.25, 237.8, and 275.35

Enjoy.
