I listen to Toronto Fire pretty regularly on the RR Live Feed. Today, I haven't heard anything on the Tac channels. For instance as I typing this. there is a fire in 224's area, and haven't heard anything over the feed since it was dispatched.

Anybody know if there is an issue with the feed, or how I might let the feed provider know there may be an issue?

Radiorefernce just put out a no tac channel policy for feeds.

Thats kinda stupid, TAC channels are the most interesting, especially during a fire. I would have to guess firefighting ops are excluded and that perhaps the feed provider is monitoring a tower in another part of the city as Toronto Public Sofety has 4 zones.. if the feed provider is in Scarborough and the fire is in Etobicoke than you probably would not hear that of the East tower.

Sorry but no.

The TAC channel policy applies to Law Enforcement only.

Anything that would compromise officer safety.

Take a look at the feed details and you should see an icon n the right hand side to notify the feed provider of problems.

You could also post your question in the Live Audio forum.

My guess...

224's area is in the east end of town. That station served the apartment building complex I used to live in. Calls for that area always came across on the East Tac channels, not south. The feed on RR is only scanning South Tac channels, so that's likely why you didn't hear anything.

As Mike said, the TAC policy is aimed at such things as 57-TAC51, ETF Simplex, Gangs and Guns, and that sort of thing.

Thanks so far everyone.

I was just using the fire in 224 as an example. I heard calls in the south command, and was only hearing the dispatch, and nothing on tac or anything like that.

I'll have a listen right now, and see what I can hear.

Thanks again.
