Keep in mind that while the marketing speak in the description says it'll cover down to 25MHz, reality is that a short antenna like either of those is going to be a very poor performer for low band VHF.

You can't cheat physics. Using an antenna that small and expecting good results on low frequencies is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I think the through the glass part is what made it so bad for me.

Well I'm using a wire antenna in my windshield now that isn't horrible. So I think the tram will work good too and if it isn't I will go with a comtelco all band or a Larson triband.
