Traveling to LV

I’m traveling to Las Vegas soon and I want to know what will be worth listening to. I checked the DB but it’s huge and I’m trying to find the highway patrol and fire stuff in the Las Vegas area. I also want to listen to any military (NTTR) and federal stuff in the area. Also the SDS100 can listen to TRBO without the dmr upgrade or no?

Federal stuff like BLM and Park Rangers at Lake Meade on individual freqs in the Nevada Federal section. To answer about TRBO yes you need the upgrade.

No, you need the upgrade. $60.00 if you buy direct from My Uniden. Don't buy upgrades from third party retailers, you'll be paying about $25 above Uniden's upgrade prices

Lake Mead is right outside Las Vegas backed up by Boulder Dam making the Colorado River a reservoir 112 miles long; it is the largest reservoir in the United States.

Anyone know about milair over here? I have the frequencies in but I never see them fly from Nellis or Creech.

Lots of MilAir going on here. Scan the band 225-400 UHF. Nellis tower is 327.00 and a common range working freq is 281.125. Blackjack is 377.55 that’s range control.

There are at least two Lake MeadEs in the United States. One is in Kansas, is surrounded by MeadE State Park and is 80 acres in size. The other is in Virginia, is part of a municipal water system and is 512 acres in size. At least twice, I have had to submit corrections to the Nevada RR database to have the editor remove the second E. It has become a pet peeve of mine!

Very rarely do you see Military aircraft on that site. You usually will see air refuel tanker aircraft, and maybe T8;s out here on the east coast. Nut most others won't show up 99% of the time. But they are up there.

I got black jack now but my hotel room is in a bad position so the signals weak that sucks because the milair at home is the trainers.

You should get outside, hotel rooms use metalic tint on the windows and that's cutting down on signal strength. Also there could be rf noise from the strip. I live away from the strip but I still use an FM trap for MilAir monitoring. I can tell you there's not much activity today maybe it will pick up tonight? Send me a pm for more help.
