• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Haven't been to the UBC store in a couple of years. Coming in through Rome, GA on HWY 20 to AL 9 to AL 35 to Scottsboro. Is there anything P-25 along the route interesting to listen too, or, should I just use my analog scanner? It appears from the DB here that everything is still conventional.
TIA,
Larry

Everything is still conventional in that neck of the woods. A non-digital scanner will work fine.

Larry - I don't think you'll find anything between Atlanta and Huntsville that is P25. We frequently travel to Huntsville (Madison) along this route thru Rome-Ft. Payne-Scottsboro and it's all either VHF or UHF. There isn't really any trunked in that area. RR database will provide all the freqs you need.
