I'm new at trunk tracking. I looked under 'El Paso, Tx' (my new home) in the data base and it listed 27 channels in the trunked system. http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=29
Are these all from a single system?

Yes It's one system put all the frequencies into your scanner.

You should be able to go control channel only mode, just put in the frequencies listed in red, make sure you are set up to track Motorola, and the scanner will do the rest. You will also probably want to enter the talkgroups you are interested in listening to in your scan list. You can run the bank in closed mode if you don't want to hear everything on the system, or open to hear every talkgroup on the system all the time.

This would be alright advice if the OP had a CCh capable scanner; according to his signature block this is not so. Please don't assume what works for your radio works for everyone, I am sure he is confused by your reference to "closed" mode.

In addition, I think there is something wrong with the DB entry, AFAIK Motorola systems can only have 24 frequencies per-site so having 27 seems wrong.

Nothing wrong with that. The old hardware limit was 28 channels. I think newer equipment can support more.

If the BCT-7 supports it.. which I am not sure if it does, put only in the control channels only and put the trunk in as "Control Channel Only"

Well that is what I get for relegating my old scanners (not CCh types) to conventional only. My mind is gettting foggy in the aging process...but you already knew that. :lol:
