Trunking Rso Edacs System
I Get Alot Of Noise Sounds Like A Dial Tone On Steroids
like 3 To 7 Second Burst Of Noise With Varing Pitch ?
Any Suggestions On Getting Rid Of This Noise
Maybe Cellular Noise ?

Are you listening with a scanner? If yes, what make and model? If it is a trunking scanner, most of them should filter out the noises. Are you referring to the post-transmission EDACS beeps?

Sounds the the GE Jingle on the old Edacs system.

I had a feeling that's what you were talking about. A town near me has an EDACS system, and they wanted more frequencies. The FCC told them to lose the jingle if they wanted to get the additional frequencies. So they lost it.

My 396T does not track EDACS properly if I am also listening to a Motorola digital system. I often get the end of transmission beeps which are at least lower in volume than that jingle. If I had to listen to that jingle on my new scanner I would have lost all sanity by now LOL!

If your radio or scanner has EDACS tracking capability, you should not be hearing the beeps or the jingle.

The "GE Jingle" has been replacedby the softer but still aggravating beeps. There is a sequence of 5 beeps after each EDACS transmission that trunking scanners are supposed to filter out.

I listen to HEMET on the "WEST" system from East Hemet on a Pro-97 and a Pro-2055, both base and mobile. It's quiet and no complaints whatsoever!

When you said "Central", does that mean you are listening to the Central Talk Group?

West works fine here and in Beaumont, Cherry Valley out Gilman Springs Road to Mo Valley.

I bought a "2052" just before Christmas, IT would sometimes (too often) let a loud data blast come through. I didn't like it at all, and returned it for a new 2055.

IF you program the WEST system be sure to leave CH 6 blank as indicated in the database.

Good Luck!

Re-Reading your noise complaint, it sounds exactly like that if your radio is not in the "trunking" mode. If I take my scanner out of the trunking mode I will hear a pulsating data sound. I've heard the old jingle a long time ago. It's not in use here anymore, so that's not it.

riverside county edacs. is a multi-cast set of frequencies. it has about 6 sets of frequencies that transmit the same audio. it is an edacs system and you need to have the frequencies in l.c.n. ive got a pro-97. i live in banning. find the different sets of frequencies and find the one that has the strongest signal to where you are. that should make a big difference too. you can email me if you cant find the l.c.n. or the frequencies. crew7831@yahoo.
