I just got a new truncking scanner as a gift. Its a Uniden BCT15. Never had a trucking scanner an this one seems hard to set up. Anyway I want to program the scanner to receive mt trunk system the town I work for. Its on a 800MHZ09-081 and 09-091. Not sure how they work or if thats all the info needed or if the new scanner will pick it up. oh does EDACS mean anything? Thanks

Woody367,

Do a search of the forums, especially the Uniden forum on help with the BCT-15. There are numerous threads on the topic. They can help you with all the questions you may have, including what EDACS is.

You may also want to include your location for even better help. Konwing what systems you are dealing with helps tremendously.

You'll need to know all the system frequencies. As Lynn mentioned, telling us which system will help. Look up the system in the Database on this site (and link to it in your reply so we can easily see which one you need help with).

In addition to the O/M included with the scanner, there are other resources for learning about programming the scanner on this site. I'd start with the below two wiki entries:

BCT15 Wiki Page
Trunking Basics

Also, there is an alternative O/M that some find useful here: Easier to Read BCT-15 Manual
