Hi all. I got my new TRX-1 about a week ago and it is fantastic and easy to program on PC. I was curious to know if you are bringing in data on the onboard tap say for 900mhz data bursts, would I need to have the squelch down to where it is hissing or leave it higher. Thanks.

It's a disciminator tap that takes the raw audio before any dsp handling or squelch action. It's a constant audio independent of the squelch.
When you plug something into the headphone jack the speaker goes silent, so the squelch is only used to stop scanning, if you are doing that.

I must be doing something wrong. When I ran it through the laptop yesterday, it said it was unable to decide the audio. I have no idea or anything was going through other than the RX indicator on the scanner.

On the scanner, go to menu then Program settings then Global Settings, scroll down to PC/IF CCDUMP select that, continue scrolling down to IF OUT and select that option to read HP. The IF now goes through the headphone jack. Save the changes and you should be good to go,

Remember to change it back after you are done.
