Have DMR upgrade. Live in Northern Wisconsin Price County, trying to find, program my local electric provider (Price Electric Cooperative) they also may be a part of the Dairyland Power Cooperative Trunked Radio System listed in RadioReference but are not listed. Seen something about them using DMR and some frequencies on fccupdates.com (can't find them now!) but nothing in RadioReference. Can or how can I use CC or Discovery to find them, or has someone from Up Nort ever found them. Thank You in advance!

Try 451.225 and 456.225 set your scanner to record those frequencies and let it run for 24 hours + then see what you get.

Thank You so much for your fast response! Do I need to program a new trunked or special system for these I will avoid my other scanning until I can find PEC as I really would like to listen to them. Sorry for the basic questions for this but I am new to this, Thanks Again!

The only frequency I see in the FCC database is 451.225. Program it as a conventional frequency. Doesn't show a license for DMR. 456.225 is the repeater input frequency.

I guess you have visited here, put your county/state, and choose sentinel format, copy to clipboard and paste to sentinel.

Toggle the show/hide import procedure on the top of the page for specifics if need instruction. Although it is for BCDx36HP, the procedure is the same for SDS200.

Your area has way fewer DMR though

You may find that DMR is only being used for data, or both data and voice? I have no idea… a guess on my part…

In addition to the repeater output and input frequencies listed above, they are also licensed for several other mobile only frequencies:
456.025
456.050
456.275
456.425
456.525
456.675

If you go to Price Co in the Data base and then to County quick jumps and click business, it shows 3 P25 Frequencies with NACs
I missed those frequencies. They are licensed for Dairyland Power Cooperative. Thanks!

Thank You but I have these programed in all 3 of my scanners (396xt, homepatrol 1 and the sds200) and have not heard 1 transmission yet and they have been in the hp 1 and 396 for well over a year. Thanks Again for helping!

My thought is they may have some kind of agreement with Dairyland Power Cooperative (the main supplier and distributor of power to the local Coops) because I see other smaller Coops listed as talkgroups in the DPC DMR Tier 3 Standard System listed in the Price County RR Database. I am assuming that no one has found them and listed them yet as a talkgroup. We are not a very populated area and do not have many scanner enthusiasts. Thanks Again for all your help, I will keep trying to find them.

Which scanner do you have maybe I can explain how to set it up to record. Scanners which use a sd card offer a record function. Whistler TRX1, TRX2, Uniden 436, 536, HP1, HP2 all have a record function.

Uniden SDS200 has a sd card and record, just haven't figured out how to use the record yet, Thank You!

If you have computer, following my post (post #5) steps or watching the youtube ((or click this for youtube)also embedded on that page is a few minutes thing to setup. Just the service type is default to custom-1, make sure you enable customer-1 service type on your scanner (or via sentinel and sync up to scanner). You can also change the service type from custom1 to utility (much easier via sentinel and download to the scanner).

The scanner database on SD card database is out of date and can be sync up2dated to the latest RR database, but in terms of DMR channels, is way incomplete any way I would ignore and just use #5 post method.

To record everything the scanner is receiving, press Function, then the Replay key. You'll get an on-screen prompt asking you to confirm that you want to start recording. Press E (yes) to confirm.

To stop recording, again press Function and the Replay key. You'll get a prompt to confirm that you want to stop recording.

On the scanner itself, you cannot pick & choose only specific channels to record. It's either all, or none (other than the limited replay feature). If using software such as ProScan (or ARC536), you can connect your scanner to your PC & only record selected channels. You would need to also feed the scanner audio to the PC for that to work.

Here's something you can try its called discovery mode it records transmissions and time stamps them and logs the mode.

Press Menu scroll and select discovery
choose conventional
select start discovery
call it anything it doesn't matter
set frequency or frequency limits (high/low)
Set modulation to auto
then go back to the top and start the discovery
it will log any frequency it finds and record the transmission
turn the volume down and let it run
after its run for a few hours check pg 49 of the manual to see how to review what you captured

Hiegtx please check what I told him and correct or clearify what I'm trying to explain I have a 536 so it maybe a bit different discovery is a great way to find new freqs and talk groups

Thank You for all your help! I will try your suggestions when I get more time in the next couple of evenngs. Will the discovery in conventional mode still find a DMR transmission or do I have to program the discovery different? I am trying to get more info at the utility itself. Hopefully my contact will pay off. Thanks Again everyone! Hopefully I can learn more about scanning and help others also.
