Hey does anyone in the tucson area know what the “common” and fire inOp channels are used for, I heard GRFD units respond on hwy 79 and they said there switching assignment from A6 west to common 10 on their C bank, can anyone tell me how this is used and why?

Sounds like two different departments responding to the same incident and they are switching to a common talk group to coordinate their response.

They were responding with no other outside units rather then them, I’m thinking that they have more simulcast systems in pinal county than Pima county

PCWIN has 3 zones of interoperability talkgroups. Common, Interop and Inop zones.
