• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This summer while looking for old radios I came across an Ultra Kicker new in the box been sitting since new. The elderly lady said her husband had purchased it in the 70's but it was so big he never got around to putting it together. I purchased it for $100 and was glad to do so.
This monster weighs 52 pounds in the box !!!!. this is a 42 pound antenna assembled. It is 14 feet in diameter and 22 feet tall. If you were a cb'r in the 70's this would have been the most outrageous cb antenna around.
I originally had thoughts of altering this antenna for use on 10 meters, but just like the last owner I'm not sure I want to put this monster together.
I will post the entire manual here. The picture on the front of the manual is a bit deceiving as there is no ground plane with this antenna. What you see at the bottom of the antenna are support guy wires.
Enjoy and 73

There is no need for a ground plane - The antenna looks to be 4 Selectable Vertical Dipole antenna's from the control box.
N, S ,E W or Omni !
It looks kinda like the old Super scanner antenna which did the same thing but with 3 dipoles that were controlled by a remote box !
For 10 meters the Antennas can be shortened to get the SWR down or its going to be so Broad banded there will be no need to adjust.

I see it went on EBAY... Some Brave CB'er should be willing to put it up.
Ill agree that there is allot of Antenna here to put up and that relay box would be A technical issue over time.

That is a dream antenna find. I'd be lying to say I'm not totally jealous.

Some people claimed that this antenna never existed, it's so rare. It's like an innovation on the Antenna Specialists Super Scanner, but better directional coverage.

And, after reading those directions and looking at those parts, there is no way in HELL I would want the daunting task of putting that together and worrying about getting it correct, LOL.
