Does anyone have a codeplug for South Florida? I've read that it's best to start with an existing codeplug and modify from there, but I can't seem to find any for this model.

Thanks!

I posted a sample MD-UV380 codeplug on the Resources page at coloradodigital.net but you'll have to add your own BrandMeister talkgroups and repeaters. I also have links to other codeplugs on the DMR pzge of my website. HTH.

Very few Brandmeister repeaters here in SE Florida. Most are not affiliated with any group, so they don’t work with hotspots. Rather, multi repeater systems only connected to themselves with one TG per TS.

I should have stated things differently. Add BrandMeister talkgroups to the codeplug for the hotspot. Add Florida DMR repeaters to include tg9 and whatever talkgroups they use. I show how I organized my codeplug on my W2XQ.com : Amateur Radio: DMR: Codeplug webpage.

It doesn’t work that way here. The DMR repeaters are privately owned, & you need to contact the owners to get the TG’s, as they are not 9, or 2. The only open repeater is W2GGI, & it uses the standard TG’s people are familiar with. They are in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, & West Palm Beach. There may be others, but I’m not familiar with them. And only W2GGI’s repeaters work with hot spots. None of the private repeaters do.

DMR repeaters around here are open, but different sets of available talkgroups are available deoending upon the group putting the systems on the air. See WR3IRS - Interstate Repeater System and http://www.n2jti.net/ and N2NSA.NET and http://www.k4usd.org/ for the mid-Atlantic states. None of these repeaters function using hotspots.

However each area administers frequency coordination, as you said above, the OP would be far better off rolling up his own codeplug. Whatever he wants to do.
