Hi guys,

I am having problems decoding CTCSS and DPL on the TH8600. The radio will stay muted even though the correct CTCSS or DPL is being received. Squelch mode is set to CTCSS/DCS and tone mode to T sql or DCS. Tried several firmware versions and TYT software releases. Currently I'm on v1.7 and Th8600_UpdataFile2020_12_24_2_22JT firmware. None seem to fix the problem.

Thanks
Willie

Selective squelch is a pretty basic function for any amateur or Land Mobile FM radio. You don't mention any CTCSS or DCS values. Have you set matching values (ie 103.5 Hz) for each radio?

Actually, there aren't too many situations where CTCSS decode/receive is really necessary. Will plain old carrier squelch work for your needs?

In my region most dual mode repeaters (digital / analog) sent their CTCSS tone on the analog mode so that your radio doesn’t have to listen to the digital portion.

To make sure that there’s no third party involved I tested this in simplex mode using my Motorola radio to encode CTCSS and DCS.

ej CTCSS 67.0hz
DCS 315 normal. (Also tried inverting it)

My other mobile and the Motorola radio decodes with no problem. The TH8600 radio stays muted.
The TH8600 encodes both DCS and CTCSS perfectly.
