• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

The latest firmware update from TYT's website messed up my radio. I have successfully update the firmware to this radio so I know it's nothing I have done. What is happening since the latest firmware update S018.003 each and every time I try and update the DMR contact list downloaded from Amateur Radio.Digital's website and cut the list down to under 100,000 so the radio will accept it (again same as I have done with every firmware update in the past) the CPS software allows my to import the contact list but when I go to write it to the radio I receive the error message (Firmware issue). No matter what I have do to try and figure out a work around I have been unsuccessful. I have not been able to find any information on how to do a factory reset and start from scratch. Also, I tired putting the original radio read from when I first received the radio but no luck the same error message. I have tried to put a previous firmware version into the radio but after what appears to be a good update when checking the radio it is still reading version S018.003. Does anyone know how to do a complete factory reset on this radio?

What people did for the original MD380 was to read the radio the moment you took it out of the box the first time. You would then save that codeplug, & name it reset, or default. So if you ever had to reset the radio, you would load in that virgin codeplug. Hope you did that.
