Fed NJ Interop involved with activity at U.N in NYC?

On 9/21 & 9/22 I heard transmissions thought to be Security for the U.N. in NYC. Heard them on 167.7875 PL 653 Federal NJ Interop-01. They mentioned calls signs of:

Hawkeye Iran….Hawkeye Israel…..Hercules….MSC Israel….Alamo…..UN….Northstar…….Chada Hawkeye…….

And also said...... “Signal arrival R.O.N”

Anyone have any thoughts or info? I found it interesting that NJ seemed so heavily envolved.

Actually that is the NYC Area FIO-1, not just for NJ

If you listen in at 10am every Wednesday, they have a roll call of every agency that has access to the channel. Pretty much all Federal in NY and NJ as well as a few locals like Nassau County PD, Connecticut State Police and Essex County, NJ Sheriff's Office for example.

There are so many federal agencies between NYC and Newark. Alot of them are encrypted but there is alot of activity most people are unaware of.

Very Cool! Of all the things I listen to ( Pub-Safe, EMS,Fire, etc) I think the Fed is by far the most interesting. Thanks for the responses. Will definately be listening for roll call at 10am.

I hear "Northstar" too and I think it is reffering to a specific FBI unit.

I heard the same thing, at first I was confused. Thought it was NORTHSTAR medivac. But I think you're right...Same name but a FED unit. Much less activity now than when the U.N was doing their thing.
