I'm too close to the Lake Kickapoo site. I can usually hear a weak signal on 216.98 all the time. Probably from tropo scatter and airplanes.

Tom, I am close to Kennedy Space Center. I have an R-7000 set to 216.990 with a log periodic pointed to the NW. I don't have a pre-amp, so I don't know if I will get anything or not. It is just coming over California now, if it did break up, maybe there would be enough of a reflection to catch an echo.

I worked there about 20 years ago back when it belonged to the Navy and like to check every once in a while to see if it is still on the air. I don't have a SSB/CW receiver so I just listen in AM. I wasn't paying attention and missed this last pass.
